IACRN Oncology SIG

Oncology is the most common therapeutic area for clinical trials, representing more than 20% of trials on clinical trials.gov. Research nurses manage trials that are notoriously complex due to the multifaceted nature of the disease, length of trials, patient population and overall cost/resource intensity.

The Oncology SIG provides a forum to discuss the intersection of clinical research nursing and oncology nursing and common challenges faced in the day-to-day management of oncology trials.

Recent meeting topics: CTCAE v. 6 and adverse event reporting, clinical ladders, PK sampling, cross department collaboration and decentralized trials.

Shared Tools are available to members on our shared google drive.

Mission: The Oncology SIG of IACRN is dedicated to supporting clinical research nurses in oncology and related fields by fostering a collaborative network for sharing best practices, providing targeted educational opportunities, and promoting the interests of oncology clinical research nurses.

Meetings: Held on the first Friday of odd-numbered months at 1:30 PM (EST) via Zoom.

Format: Virtual meetings featuring open discussion of group goals, shared challenges, and presentations led by members or invited external speakers.
