Webinar: Oncology Pharmacogenomics and the Evolving Landscape of Targeted Therapies

  • 06/02/2022
  • 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

You are invited to join the Boston-New England Chapter of IACRN for their meeting and educational webinar

Oncology Pharmacogenomics and the Evolving Landscape of Targeted Therapies

Thursday, June 2, 2022
5:30 - 7:00 PM EDT
(Boston-New England Chapter meeting from 5:30 to approximately 5:45 PM with educational session immediately following)

The gap between genetics/genomics in clinical care, and what the nursing community is equipped to provide, grows larger day by day. Current academic nursing education does not prepare nurses for their role in today's genomic era. Genetics/genomics didactic and clinical content are not standard in registered nurse preparatory programs, leaving a workforce insufficiently prepared to help patients. Advances in genetics and genomics have necessitated initiatives in healthcare to assist nurses in improving their understanding and applying this new knowledge in practice. Only with this understanding can the translation of such knowledge ultimately benefit patients, families, and communities.
